In aid of International Women’s Day 2019, Microsoft are partnering with Grey Matter to hold a one-day Data Science bootcamp, aimed at women seeking to return to work or transfer from a different industry.
80% of UK businesses plan to hire a data scientist in 2019, according to a new report from MHR Analytics. The demand is clear, and we want to help you make the most of the opportunity. If you’re looking to make change and pursue a new rewarding and creative career, why not join us at our bootcamp on the 2nd of May where you can begin to develop the digital skills you need to become a Data Scientist.
More than 500,000 highly skilled workers will be needed to fill digital roles by 2022. That’s three times the number of UK computer science graduates that we currently have from the past 10 years. And only 5% of those have been female.
Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to spend some time with Data Scientists to understand their role, and you will complete Module 1 of the Data Science Microsoft Professional Program (MPP) with the support of Grey Matter and Microsoft trainers. Successful completion of the module offers a Certificate of Completion, funded by Grey Matter. Candidates then complete a further nine modules over six months to achieve the Data Science Microsoft Professional Program (MPP).
We are holding our bootcamp at the Met Office in Exeter, however there are eight other Microsoft partners running a bootcamp in the UK so if you are interested but too far from Exeter do check for more suitable locations here. Please note however that the agenda may differ slightly depending on the location you have picked.
