Assistant Manager in Cyber Risk
I’ve had some good opportunities to develop since joining Deloitte. I built up my confidence in my first role and learnt how the business works, before moving into cyber risk, an area I’d been interested in since university. Now I’m an assistant manager in the Cyber Risk team, helping the firm to manage cybersecurity risks, procedures and policies. Our services include advice on big projects, making sure security policies are followed, checking security effectiveness, and managing risks related to working with other companies. We also help with data protection, responding to cyber incidents, and managing any risks that might come from third-party suppliers. Continue reading >>
Manager, Solutions Architect
I joined Deloitte in 2022, because I was inspired by how Deloitte supports and champions women in technology roles. My day-to-day work is to design and oversee the implementation of complex technical solutions that addresses challenges for clients. As a solutions architect it is my responsibility to build strategic IT solutions, ensuring that systems are joint up in the most efficient manner. I love the problem-solving aspect of my work and the fact that every day is completely different. Working on a product from end-to-end also means you get to see the bigger picture, which I find really exciting. When I started software engineering, there weren’t many women in the industry. That’s changing now and I really want to encourage more women to join the technology world. I want women to know what tech careers are possible for them, right from the moment they start school. I’m part of a Women in Architecture group in Deloitte, as well as the wider architect community, and we support others who are learning and growing in the firm. Continue reading >>
Change Manager in Tax and Legal Digital Innovation
I enjoyed being an executive assistant because I liked helping people. But after 10 years, I was ready for a change. I started getting involved in project management, which I really enjoyed. I was fully supported by my managers to make a career shift, which made the transition much easier. While working as a project manager for the Corporate Tax and Real Estate Compliance teams, I began to take part in some change management work, and decided this was the perfect fit for me. It’s a really varied job, it’s people focussed, and you get the chance to help others to learn and develop. I’m now a change management consultant for the Digital Innovation team, and I recently got promoted. My role is to drive the adoption of new technologies within the tax teams. I help to prepare people for the change, raise awareness of what’s coming, identify knowledge gaps and consider where extra training is needed. I then manage the change process of the tech roll-out, supporting our people along the way. I enjoy the problem-solving aspects of the role, as well as being able to help people to improve their ways of working. I’ve learnt a lot in a short space of time, and I like the fact that I’m challenged. Continue reading >>
