Assurant launch Women@Assurant Employee Resource Group

There is nothing more important than cultivating a workplace culture where everyone feels a strong sense of belonging, regardless of their background. Launching Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) is one way to cultivate a sense of community and belonging. When we harness the collective strength of our unique differences, we work better together, we unlock creative potential and ultimately make Assurant a stronger, more innovative company.

Assurant has launched Women@Assurant, an ERG that is dedicated to strengthening a diverse and inclusive work environment. Together, we’re on a mission: To support women with their personal and professional growth by providing mentorship, leadership development and sponsorship to drive empowerment and engagement; to provide a forum that encourages collaboration, connection, and innovation; and to engage leadership to maintain an open environment for ideas and support for the ERG.

Guided by our mission, we’re committing to our goals of increasing the representation of women in leadership positions, creating spaces for bridging and bonding opportunities for women and allies, and leveraging Assurant partnerships to promote our ERG brand and community efforts.

More than Just a Membership

Assurant employees who join Women@Assurant are joining women and allies across each of our business units, functions, and locations. It means becoming a part of a powerful community that actively shares expert knowledge, supports each other’s growth and celebrates achievements together. It also means employees will be investing in their own career, while helping to build inclusive communities, promote diversity of thought and advance equality for everyone across Assurant.

Allyship is a key component to building an actively empowered and diverse workforce. We recognise that all employees of all genders have the opportunity to play a role in building communities worldwide and embracing others with meaningful actions through allyship.

Our Women@Assurant Leadership Team sponsored a Diverse Perspectives Programme in honour of International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 8, to bring together employees from across the company to celebrate, empower and develop women at all levels.

We are excited about how the Women@Assurant ERG will build a stronger community of women at Assurant.
